Sibongile Day & Night Care Centre

Empowering Communities, Transforming Lives

History of our childcare centre

Founded in January 2005 by Nomasango Xabanisa, our childcare center originated from her initiative to care for children with cerebral palsy in her home. This compassionate act stemmed from the lack of specialized care available in the community and was fueled by her personal connection to the cause – her daughter Sibongile, who also has cerebral palsy. Recognizing the absence of organizations catering to these children in the area, Nomasango underwent training at the Red Cross Children’s Hospital in Cape Town.

Our Vision

In the vision of Sibongile’s mission, we aspire to establish a network of day and night care centers that provide holistic care and support for children with disabilities in communities across South Africa. Our goal is to create a safe and nurturing environment where every child is valued, empowered, and given the opportunity to flourish. Through education, advocacy, and collaboration, we aim to break down barriers, combat stigma, and enable parents to care for their children at home effectively.

Our vision extends beyond borders, envisioning a future where children with disabilities are embraced, supported, and given the resources they need to thrive. By expanding our facilities, programs, and outreach efforts, we seek to create a more inclusive society where every child can experience love, joy, and fulfillment. Join us in turning this vision into a reality, one child at a time.
